For our IMM Technology team in Amsterdam, we are currently recruiting a full time:

Application Support Specialist

As a member of the Technology department: 

- Providing daily operational support for application systems under guidance (primarily What’s on)

- Implementing patches and fixes with the experienced guidance of senior colleagues

- Assisting in preparing supporting documentation and application user guides

- Defining and document more complicated application issues

- Adding to the knowledge base for production support

- Monitoring metrics and report on application performance

- Modifying and create job controls, custom scripts and custom monitor utilities under guidance

- Great communication skills in working with technical and non-technical people and the ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships among the global organisation. 

- Desire and ability to develop professionally, both by learning from and sharing knowledge with co-workers 

- Obtain and document system configuration knowledge 

- Receiving some, direct, supervision but will be assigned independent tasks


That’s why we want you to have:

- 1 - 2 years of relevant experience in working within technology service support teams or a relevant BA/BS degree

- Familiarity of the content supply chain for all distribution platforms (linear television, VOD, SVOD, DTO, sites, apps etc.) a big plus

- Positive attitude towards service management and the quality of its delivery

- Effective communication skills in English and an attentive listener who has the ability to explain a technical concept to a non-technical person

- Has a creative approach to problem solving and risk mitigation

- A strong resistance to stress and grace under fire

- Knowledge of broadcast or media and the “What’s On” channel management system is preferred 

- Knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle including UAT & transition experience and XML & XSLT

- Knowledge of relational databases (MS Access, SQL Server, MySql and PostgreSQL) 

- Some familiarity with Microsoft development technologies including .NET and SSIS and/or Java for review and debugging 

- Understating of RESTful and SOAP, BPM concepts (Camunda platform a plus) 

- Performance and monitoring platforms (i.e. New Relic and Sumo Logic) 

- Data exchange formats and translation (i.e. JSON, XML, XSD, XPATH and XSLT) 

- Experience with ITIL foundation & Service Management
